Movin' Around

Originally written when I was 17 recorded for "All The Right Noises" 1971
Wish I was movin' around
Got a home and a family and acres of ground
And I'm thankin' the lord
For letting me down
With a sigh

Holding the thoughts of a child
I know what I want and I know what is mine
And I know what to see and I wish I had time.

Rain on the side of a barn
We all need a song for safety from harm
And there's only a moment of sleep to be held
In the dark.

O say I hear the trains
Burnin' cross the land
O yes I'd like to say
Goodbye would you understand
Goodbye would you understand.

Wish I was movin' around
Got a home and a family and acres of ground
And I'm thankin the Lord for letting me down with a sigh
